Open Access Policy
The International Journal of Didactical Studies (IJODS) is a fully open-access scholarly journal. All scholarly articles published by IJODS are made immediately and permanently available online, free of charge, from the date of publication.
No subscription, registration, or other payment is required to read or download published articles, and no embargo period is applied to the journal’s scholarly content.
Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, crawl, index, adapt, and otherwise reuse published articles in accordance with the terms of the applicable open-access license.
1. Open Access License
All scholarly articles published in IJODS are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Under CC BY 4.0, users are permitted to share, copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the published material for any lawful purpose, including commercial and non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the original work are indicated.
No additional restrictions are imposed that would limit the lawful reuse permitted under the CC BY 4.0 License.
The licensing information applicable to an article should be clearly indicated on the article landing page and in the published full-text version.
2. Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their articles published by IJODS.
By publishing with IJODS, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and agree that the published article will be made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Authors retain the right to use, distribute, reproduce, share, and archive their work in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 License.
The copyright terms applicable to scholarly articles are distinct from the copyright status of the IJODS website, journal logo, trademarks, website design, and other publisher-owned material. Unless otherwise indicated, the CC BY 4.0 License applies to published scholarly articles and does not automatically apply to other material appearing on the journal website.
3. Third-Party Material
Authors are responsible for obtaining any permissions required for copyrighted material owned by third parties that is included in their manuscripts.
Third-party material that is not covered by the article’s CC BY 4.0 License must be clearly identified with an appropriate credit line or other indication of its copyright and licensing status.
The inclusion of third-party material in an open-access article does not automatically place that material under the CC BY 4.0 License where the authors or journal do not have the legal authority to do so.
4. Author Self-Archiving and Repository Policy
IJODS permits authors to deposit and make publicly available all major versions of their manuscripts in institutional repositories, subject repositories, scholarly repositories, personal academic websites, or other appropriate non-commercial scholarly platforms.
Authors may archive the preprint, the Author Accepted Manuscript, and the published Version of Record.
IJODS does not impose an embargo period on self-archiving.
When the published Version of Record is deposited or shared, authors are encouraged to provide the complete bibliographic citation and DOI or permanent link to the version published by IJODS.
Self-archiving does not affect the copyright retained by the authors or the CC BY 4.0 License applicable to the published article.
5. Funder and Institutional Open Access Requirements
IJODS’s immediate open-access publishing model and use of the CC BY 4.0 License are designed to support compliance with many institutional and research-funder open-access requirements.
Authors remain responsible for confirming and meeting any additional requirements imposed by their funding organization, institution, research grant, or other relevant body.
6. Article Processing Charges and Editorial Independence
Open access to published articles is not conditional on payment by readers.
Where an Article Processing Charge applies, the amount, payment conditions, and applicable waiver or discount arrangements are stated separately in the journal’s Article Processing Charges Policy.
Article Processing Charges and related administrative arrangements have no influence on editorial assessment, peer review, acceptance, or rejection. Editorial decisions are based on the scholarly quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and integrity of the submitted work.
No payment is required to access published scholarly content.
7. Digital Preservation
Open access and digital preservation are complementary but distinct components of the journal’s publishing model.
IJODS maintains arrangements intended to support continued access to its scholarly content and the long-term preservation of the published record. Details of the journal’s preservation arrangements are provided in the Archiving Policy.
Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are assigned to published articles to provide persistent identification and support reliable discovery and linking.
8. Permanent Open Access
Articles published as open access by IJODS remain openly accessible after publication. The journal does not subsequently convert open-access scholarly articles into subscription-only or paywalled content.
Any correction, retraction, Expression of Concern, or other post-publication notice affecting an article will be handled in accordance with the journal’s Ethics and Malpractice Statement while preserving the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record.
